WHAT SCOUTS DO!
Monopoly Rune ‘LIVE’ took place earlier this month and Hawley Scouts had two teams that took part.

Monopoly Run ‘Live’ is a real-time version of the popular Monopoly Run (London) board game. It is played in a single day in central London and involves visiting the actual sites that the board game is based on. The game is all about your tactics and speed in getting around the capital. This year, there were 227 simultaneous games, pitting each team against seven others. In total, 1340 teams were playing at the same time.
6th Hawley Scouts had two teams competing, the ‘Rich Teas’ and the ‘Hobnobs’. They enjoyed the whole experience and what a way to see and hear the sights and sounds of London town.

DOUGH-NUTTING, BIKES & TINY FROGS, SCOUTING SKILLS, BIO-DIVERSITY, KAYAKING . .
It might be cold out there but it gave our Cubs a perfect opportunity to try out dough-nutting at Aldershot Ski Slope.

The Cubs made some very special Christmas presents for their parents and also learnt some ‘life skills’ at the same time!

The Cub section took a bike ride across the local common. It’s undulating terrain so a little bit of down with a fair bit of UP! Highlight of the evening was the frog procession across one of the byways. Akela treated them to ice lollies after the event, that’s the Cubs not the FROGS!!

Scouting Skills
Knives are an important tool in the shaping of wood for gadgets and preparing material for a camp fire. It is important that we know how to use them safely and properly.

The County Bushcraft Group made a visit to our Den a few weeks ago to show us how to sharpen our fixed blade knives.

Summer Time is Here

All the hard work the Leaders and Scouts put in during the Spring has come to fruition with a wonderful display of wild flowers along the verges of our roads. Another contribution to the environmental project in the District.

Out and About
Forget those weeks of frost, ice and rain ‘cos Spring is here and it’s time to go outdoors again.
Here are some pictures of what we did in 2022.
