Parents don’t realise it but they have many transferrable skills and experiences. We decided to tap into some of them at a recent Explorer meeting. With the help of a parent who was a caver we took the Explorers back to ‘old school’ caving on the Mendip Hills. We tried the clothes and kit in use at the time and then fast forwarded to more modern approach to the activity. We finished off the evening trying out some of the games that are played in the caving huts across Mendip.

The equipment we used to use on the right and on the left current kit.
