Squirrel Scouts are girls and boys aged between 4 and 6 years of age.
Meet the newest branch of our family tree! Squirrel Scouts are a brand new section for Early Years, full of fun, games, stories and songs. We’re starting to roll this out across our district so they won’t be everywhere yet.
A typical Squirrels meeting would open with songs, a calming play activity or a story book linked to that week’s theme. With a main activity and a game to build in the learning before ending with a song too.
At Squirrels, our parents are equal partners in making the dream happen. Together our parents and leaders guide and encourage our young people to try something new and make new friends, maybe even from different schools or pre-schools.
Squirrels in our District.
Our aim is to have one Squirrels Drey up and running in September with more to follow in the future as we find some lovely people ready to enjoy the fun of Squirrels.
In our district, our lovely young people and leaders are supported by our Assistant District Commissioner – Section Support (Squirrels). This position is currently vacant but we’re looking for helpers to support our first few Squirrel Dreys. If you think this could be you, let our lead volunteer know by email: [email protected].
If you want to get Squirrels started in your community, get in touch! The email above for our lead volunteer is the one to use.
