29th Annual International Workshop

Our workshop on the Global Programme Zone is being held on Saturday 9th November 2024 by ZOOM

The 28th International workshop took place in November 2023.

In Bramshill Scout District we have a particular international focus on the Environment, Fairtrade, Clean Water and the mitigation of insect transmitted disease. We have some resources which you are welcome to use.

Environmental

There is no doubt that climate change is making the fight against malaria more difficult than ever as mosquitos thrive in hotter, wetter weather. Anything we can do to reduce their incidence will be appreciated by those living in these areas.

Water Wells Project

What is Wells for Uganda? It started back in 1992, when a large group of Scouts visited Uganda. This initial journey was part of an immunisation campaign organised by UNICEF (The UN Children’s Fund) to help prevent and stop the spread of disease.

Since 2000 the Hampshire Scouts have been collaborating with the Masindi district of Uganda to bring clean water to the district.

Fair Trade

Fair trade is a term for an arrangement designed to help producers in developing countries achieve sustainable and equitable trade relationships. Your young people can help this initiative.

The next Fairtrade Fortnight will be from 24th February to 9th March 2025

Czech Scouts in the UK

Bramshill District and especially the 6th Hawley have a long history of European Scouting. In 1991 we were the first English Scout District to visit the 66th Prague in Czechoslovakia after the ‘wall’ came down. The 66th Prague came to the UK in 1992. These photos are of a memorial service at Brookwood Military Cemetery on the 14th May 2023 organised by the ‘Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans.’
